Researchers had participants use a whole body vibration machine for six months. They exercised with the machine just two or three times per day for eight to 13 minutes. At the end of the trial period, a collective cellulite reduction of 25.7 percent was achieved.
But the study also looked at how whole body vibration works in conjunction with cardiovascular exercise. A second group performed both of these workouts, completing two to three eight to 13-minute whole body vibration sessions each week and 24 to 48 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. This group resulted in a reduction of cellulite by 32.3 percent. The exercises conducted on the whole body vibration machine, which targeted cellulite, were a deep squat, lunge, thigh massage, and calf massage.
